   Proposal Description:
   Working on this proposal with Joy Stradford from USC LONI.    We plan to conduct analyses examining the relationship between gender, genetic factors like APOE4, and imaging markers that are associated with risk for Alzheimer?s disease. Cross-sectional and longitudinal data analyses will be performed to observe differences at baseline and understand how these differences predict change in cognitive and imaging measures.    Using state-of-the-art neuroimaging analyses and robust, longitudinal statistical models of cognition and clinical conversion, we will evaluate AD specific regions, such as the hippocampus, in relation to cognitive function and clinical progression in our aggregated cohort of cognitively normal (CN), MCI and AD. Critically, we report new studies documenting this approach in aggregated datasets that reveal gender-specific associations along with biomarker indicators that may present prior to clinical presentation of MCI.
